![]() The value of Microsoft 365 Family is insane and hard to resist. The data is not only on the NAS itself, it is partially synced to my desktop and the other part to my laptop. I tried to restore a few random files and that worked. That is what proxy Docker image I linked fixes. That would normally work with OneDrive, but doesn't because of authentication protocol/method incompatibility. The work-around is using the general WebDav protocol. That should give me the same size as the OneDrive backup.īackup to OneDrive directly is indeed unsupported. Actually, I'll do that, just to make sure. To verify, I could run the same backup to a local USB hard disk. Now that I think about it: that makes sense. I was aware of the Syno C2 Plan 1 storage quota 'billing' policy (only one version, versioning not billed), but didn't think that would imply they show the amount of "source" data backed up. :)Ĭompression would indeed explain the difference. Hyper Backup - OneDrive will it be supported Z ZataH zatah Edited 90 Replies 23336 Views 76 Likes This has been requested the past several years. I'll ditch C2, keep using OneDrive, and make occasional backups to the external HD. Any method to troubleshoot this? How to look into further details?Įdit: as u/gadget-freak commented, compression is at play here. Logs in Hyper Backup are basically inexistent. This is the data backed up to OneDrive:Īny reasonable explanation for the size difference? I have a Microsoft 365 Family trial subscription active. Same size (there's a very slight amount of versioning in it). ![]() I have a Synology C2 trial subscription active. ![]() ![]() I'm using Synology Drive, and want to backup the whole share for Drive online using Hyper Backup. So official OneDrive support will never happen, and I sure as hell can't ask official support for it. Especially because Microsoft 365 Family, which includes 1TB OneDrive and 5 installs of Microsoft Office desktop/mobile apps each for 6 family members, can be bought cheaper (< €70) than one Synology C2 1TB (€72) subscription. Allowing / supporting OneDrive will directly compete with their own C2 offering. Synology has its own C2 cloud storage service. It seems because of an incompatible authentication protocol/system. So, you might have noticed backup to OneDrive is not a default option in Synology Hyper Backup. ![]()
